We reccomended Council approve the client's proposal for the development of the basement of 20 Oxford Square Darlinghurst into a pottery studio and school.
The significance of 10-20 Oxford Square lies in its capacity to ‘demonstrate the characteristics of the Victorian Free Classical’ architectural style in a ‘good and representative manner’ and its contribution to the streetscape, which will not be impeded by the pottery studio adaptive reuse. The building has been historically used for commercial activities and the proposed use as pottery school and studio continues that commercial tradition.
