ArchitecturalRegional DevelopmentLocalSydney - NorthernHeritage Assessment Authors: Dr Sue Rosen and Liz Gorman Client: Private Client Our team prepared a Heritage Impact Statement required for the client to undertake minor, historically sympathetic, alterations. With Sydney’s population boom during the second half of the nineteenth century (from 54,000 in 1851 to 350,000 by 1889) interest in Mosman increased. Additionally, the benefit of life in the outer suburbs of Sydney was being heavily prompted by the rhetoric of slum clearance advocates. The residence standing on 32 Middle Head road today was originally constructed by Edwards Sievers in approximately 1904 – 1905. Sievers was a prominent member in the Mosman Community and was employed as the Valuer General of NSW.
