The object of this Heritage Impact Statement was to assess the impact of alterations and additions proposed at 41 Batemans Road, Gladesville on the heritage qualities of listed heritage items in Batemans Road, and on the Hunters Hill Heritage Conservation Area 2: The Isler, in which the property is located. The existing house is a heavily modified elevated single-storey brick and tile Interwar period cottage, which is a non-contributory item to the HCA in the LEP. As part of this Heritage Impact Statement, our team compiled a history of the property, which was built c.1920 following the purchase of vacant Lot 20 from the Reeve Estate of 1919.
The residence at No.41 was built in the early 1920’s and it was named Lydbury, after the owner's birthplace of North Lydbury in Shropshire, England.
