We were commisioned to compile a due diligence, to determine if Aboriginal objects or declared Aboriginal Places occur, or are likely to occur, across 130-140 Eighth Avenue, Austral. The subject site is located in the Leppington North Growth Centre Precinct of the Liverpool City Council Local Government Area. We determined from what is known of the site, the regional predictive modelling and the observed disturbance in the study area that it has the potential to contain surface and/or subsurface Aboriginal objects. The findings of the archaeological assessment also indicate that the proposed residential development of the study area has potential to harm Aboriginal objects. In light of this, the due diligence guidelines require further investigation and impact assessment.
