2018 Heritage Assessment: 73 The Boulevarde, Dulwich Hill 73 the Boulevarde, Dulwich Hill. A finely detailed and intact bungalow, constructed in 1920. [Sue Rosen] ArchitecturalSydney - InnerHeritage Assessment Authors: Dr Sue Rosen, Dr. Roy Lumby & Liz Gorman Client: Private Client This Californian-style bungalow was constructed by local buider William Mitchell in 1920. We know the date because Mitchell carved it into one of the sandstone blocks on the front verandah. Not only had this and a neighbouring 1920's bungalow been beautifully kept - retaining much of their original detailing - but their backyard had a good story; once home to a grand residence and some pretty grand personalities. Our report documenting the outcome of the heritage assessment was used to successfully impose an Interim Heritage Order on neighbouring bungalow at No. 73 (slated for demolition), so that Inner West Council could consider individual heritage listing and/or the extension of the Heritage Conservation Area to include the properties.
