This modest cottage has a very prominent next door neighbour in the Shell Gore Bay Terminal. It may be easy to assume that the house came first and industry second. In fact, the oil industry has been continually present on the site since 1884; pre-dating the little turn-of-the-century residence by a good 15 years.
The proposal was for essential structural repairs and largely internal alterations to the heritage listed cottage, located in the Greenwich Conservation Area of the Lane Cove LEP.
