The Demondrille Creek Bridge, also known as the William Bradford Bridge was constructed in 1933-1934, is thus in excess of fifty years old, and is herefore classified as a "relic" under the provisions of the NSW Heritage Act 1977. This bridge has been assessed for it's heritage significance as part of the Roads and Traffic Authority's S170 register assessment process. The proposed changes included the construction of a new bridge adjacent to the existing Demondrille Creek Bridge, on a slightly altered road alignment, and the subsequent demolition of the existing bridge. This report presents a Heritage Assessment, followed by a Statement of Heritage Impact (SOHI) in order to determine the potential heritage impact of the proposal on the bridge and to establish whether the level of impact is acceptable and/or avoidable. An assessment of the cumulative impact of this proposal in relation to other remaining bridges of this type is also made.
