2014 Heritage Impact Statement for 19 Albert Road Beecroft 19 Albert Road Beecroft was constructed in the 1970s and was on the edge of a Heritage Conservation Area. ArchitecturalSydney - NorthernHeritage AssessmentHistory Authors: Dr Sue Rosen Client: Private Client This HIS assessed the impact of the demolition of the existing dwelling and the construction of a new residence in the Beecroft North Precinct of the Beecroft Cheltenham Conservation Area on the Hornsby LEP. George Lovell purchased the property amongst many other lots in August 1887. A stream ran though the land and it was described in the Crown Plan as suitable for orchards. Lovell, who was mayor of Ryde between 1889 and 1891, held the property until 1901 when it was sold to his neighbour, Lesley Herring. Herring used the property for orcharding, and was a significant innovator in the industry and exported fruit and trees. 19 Albert Road was sold in October 1926 to William Coe. The land was sold a few more times until 1943 by the time there was a cottage on the site , and this could have been built by either Coe or the previous owners. The demolition of the cottage evident in the 1943 aerial view is likely to have occurred in order to make way for the extant residence.
