The objective of this Heritage Impact Statement is to examine the impact of the proposed sign on the heritage significance of Gerling House. The building has historical, aesthetic, research and representative significance and rarity value for the Central Sydney area and for the State, being able to demonstrate the State themes of transport and Commerce and being one of a very small group of extant warehouse/courtyard complexes in the Central Sydney area.
