The objective of this Heritage Impact Statement is to assess the impact of the demolition of the Port Kembla Copper Smelter on the heritage values and significance of the former Assay Office and the 60 ft chimney stack, a remnant from the former precious mtals mill. Both are listed on the Wollongong LEP as items of local significance.
