Excavations and survey work was carried out on the western side of the Lyell Reservoir over a three week period in early 1995, a nine day period in late 1995 and another two days in March 1996. This report is the outcome of that excavation and survey exercise. The objectives of this work are to record all surface features of the site including any features exposed by the unusually low water levels currently prevailing, salvage cultural material from within the area to be inundated by the augmented dam, investigate magnetic sub-surface anomolies and questionable site features to determine the extent of the site and to provide management recommendations for the site based on the nature of the archaeological resource.
