The Wiradjuri connection to Mid Murrumbidgee Valley National Park precincts in the area stretching 100km from Narrandera to near Darlington Point is the focus of this project. The park lies within traditional lands of the Wiradjuri people and contemporary Aboriginal communities maintain strong links with the park through visitation and are also involved in ongoing conservation works and the management of cultural heritage values in the area. The project aims to collect information from historical sources and people’s memory that reflect on the link between Aboriginal culture and park landscape.
Outputs included: Videoed interviews; 5 short thematic videos; a Wiradjurie chronology and a document archive
